Free Tips for Arsenal vs Wolves

Arsenal will host recently-promoted Wolverhampton Wolves at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

A second-string Arsenal side was involved in Europa League on Thursday, and they played a goalless draw with Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates to stretch their unbeaten run to 15 games in all competitions. The draw ensured Arsenal’s progression into the next round, but they had to pay the price as Danny Welbeck suffered a broken foot in the game.

In Premier League, the North London side were involved in a pulsating 1-1 draw with Liverpool last weekend. Unai Emery’s players arguably played their best football against the Reds. If their performance against the Reds was a sign of things to come, then we can expect the Gunners to comfortably dispatch Wolves. As things stand, Arsenal sit in the fifth-place with 23 points, a single point behind fourth-placed Tottenham. Unai Emery’s side have drawn their last two games in the league, and they would be desperate to return to the winning ways.

Wolves have recruited well, and undoubtedly, they have been the best amongst the promoted sides this season. They had made an impressive start to their season, but their recent results have dampened the spirits a bit. Wolves have lost only four games this season, but three of those defeats have come in their last three games.

However, they have achieved some impressive results this season including a home draw against Manchester City. They currently find themselves in the 11th-spot with 15 points.

Last weekend, Wolves hosted Tottenham at Molineux Stadium and put up a good fight before going down 2-3. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have been defensively solid at the back, even better than their opponents. The visitors have conceded only 12 goals in their 11 games, meaning they have the best defence in the league outside the current top-four.

Head-to-head

These two sides haven’t faced each other since the 2011-12 Premier League season. The Gunners have won nine of their last ten meetings with their opponents in all competitions.

In 2011-12, Wolves managed a 1-1 draw in the corresponding fixture but suffered a 0-3 loss in the reverse tie. Interestingly, Wolves have ended three of their last five meetings with Arsenal with ten men.

Our Tip

The Gunners would be keen to get a win before the international break, but it wouldn’t be an easy outing for them. Wolves look assured at back, but the Gunners are spoilt for riches in the attacking areas. The visitors might nick a goal, but we don’t trust them to keep the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang quiet. Hence, we are backing a home win at 5/8 odds at Unibet.
