York Dante Meeting Tips Day Two
Thursday is the second day of York’s three-day Dante Meeting and The Geek has four more TV Tips for you, including one in the Dante Stakes.
Copper Knight was in excellent form at this time of year last season when he won at Chester off a mark of 87 and followed up off 95 here at York. The latter performance stands out as he chased a very strong early pace that day before bursting clear and hanging on, and he should get the chance to do the same today off a mark of 96 as he’s drawn next to the trail-blazing El Astronaute. He’s also a good stats-fit for the last three renewals of this race that were won on good-to-firm as winners were rated 90, 95, and 96 and have all been drawn low.

Mori is bred to be a superstar as her parents are Frankel and Midday and, having not raced as a two-year-old, there’s every chance she’ll improve as a four-year-old. Both of her wins have also come at this trip of 10-furlongs and she was ahead of main market rival Coronet at this trip when that one got up in the dying strides to pip her over 12 furlongs at Royal Ascot last year. Ryan Moore was also not on board that day but is back in the saddle here in a race that he and Sir Michael Stoute teamed-up to win in 2008 and 2009.

Wells Farhh Go’s sire Farhh could only chase home Frankel on his only run at York but his offspring won both his starts here last year. That form leaves him with a bit to find on form but those wins over shorter distances suggest he could be very useful over this sort of trip this year. He also looks to have been specifically plotted at this race since by his local trainer and he looks an each-way punt against more exposed horses from some of the bigger yards.

Baraweez flew home to win at Chester last week and, having often run well twice in close succession before on several occasions in his career, he deserves to be backed to follow-up. He certainly well-handicapped on just a 1lb higher mark than last week, as his mark of 90 is still lower than three of the marks he’s won off, with his highest winning-mark being 99.
