Tottenham vs Man City is this weekend’s big Premier League clash. Tottenham find themselves amongst a group of teams whose hopes of playing Champions League football next season probably hinge on Chelsea stumbling over the final third of the Premier League season.
But one thing that could be in Tottenham’s favour is Liverpool’s dominance this season means Man City manager Pep Guardiola may have one eye on the Champions League when it comes to selecting his team this weekend.

Tottenham vs Man City Match Details
Tottenham vs Man City kicks-off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 16.30 on Sunday 2 February. The match is being broadcast on Sky Sports.
Tottenham’s home form since the arrival of Jose Mourinho has been up and down with victories coming against Bournemouth (3-2), Burnley (5-0), Brighton (2-1) and, most recently, Norwich (2-1). But the worrying thing for Spurs is they had no answer to Chelsea (0-2) or Liverpool (0-1).
Delve deeper into Tottenham’s form against the teams above them in the Premier League table and that also spells trouble, as they’ve lost away to Liverpool, Man United, and Leicester this season.
Man City Form
Man City may not have been able to live with Liverpool this season in the Premier League but they’re easily the second-best side.
City have continued to steamroller the poorer sides in the league with ruthless efficiency, including recent wins at Aston Villa (1-6) and Burnley (1-4). But where City have struggled this season is against teams with strong defences, highlighted most recently by a battling 0-1 win at Sheffield United.
Tottenham vs Man City Head-To-Heads
Tottenham and Man City have played each other 45 times in the Premier League and it’s Tottenham that have the better record of the two teams with 23 wins to Man City’s 15, with seven games being drawn.
Tottenham have won 13 of the 22 home games, with City winning just six away games against Spurs, and three being drawn.
But since the arrival of Pep Guardiola, it’s City that have won four of their last five encounters. City should have also extended that run to five after dominating possession in the 2-2 draw at the Etihad earlier this season.
City won 3-1 at Tottenham two season ago and 1-0 least season, whilst Raheem Sterling is the only player to have scored more than one goal in the last four matches between the two sides.
Tottenham vs Man City Free Tips
Man City’s excellent record against Tottenham under Pep Guardiola means there will, rightfully, be plenty of takers about the 4/7 (1.57) for a City win this weekend. As Tottenham have lost to nil at home to Liverpool and Chelsea in recent weeks, the 11/5 (3.20) for City to win to nil also appeals.
But with Harry Kane injured and a good chance that Sergio Aguero will be saved for bigger days, it could be worth chancing less than 2.5 goals at 13/8 (2.675) or better.
