On Saturday evening Manchester City will host Tottenham at Etihad Stadium. Based on the last season meetings we will hopefully see a thrilling game. Nobody has forgotten when these two met in the Champions League playoffs a few months ago. Tottenham won a close game at home 1-0. At Manchester the game was completely crazy. 3-2 after 21 minutes and 4-3 at fulltime, which was not enough for advancement for the Citizens.
City won the first game of the season away against West Ham. They won 5-0 without even being close to a top performance. Aguero sat on the bench initially and Bernardo Silva was stuck on the bench the whole game. Regardless of who gets the chance here, one thing is certain, Man City’s offensive will be sharp. City is particularly good at penetrating low defenses and with the new signing of Rodri and an injury free de Bruyne, Man City might be even better this season. Leroy Sane looks set to be a long-term absentee after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in the Community Shield. Benjamin Mendy is back in training after injury but Oleksandr Zinchenko should keep his place at left-back. Kyle Walker will probably start to the right, keeping new signing Joao Cancelo out. After being an unused substitute, Bernardo Silva will be hoping to play instead of Riyad Mahrez.
Spurs also won their first game, turning a 0-1 at halftime to a 3-1 win. Christian Eriksen started on the bench. According to rumors because he wants to leave on transfer to either Real Madrid or Barcelona. But he was substituted in minute 64. Eriksen´s impact on the game was outstanding and he turned the game to a Spurs win. The Spurs top scorer last season Harry Kane got to score two goals. Both Juan Foyth and Heung-Min Son serve the final game of their suspensions, while Dele Alli (hamstring) has been ruled out. New signing Ryan Sessegnon is a doubt with a hamstring problem, but Giovani Lo Celso could be involved following his move from Real Betis.
